People do a lot of extra shopping this time of year and end up with stacks of empty shopping bags that have to be dealt with. An alternative approach allows locals to support a local school, declutter your home, and do something good for the environment — all by simply taking your plastic shopping bags to your local elementary school, where students are earning money...

I hope that with this "Plastic bag recycling fundraiser" that you all DONT do extra shopping and end up with even more plastic bags. I believe the point of recycling is to REDUCE waste, and although this fundraiser helps schools, it wouldn't be in the best interests of the community to actually TRY to get so many plastic bags. I Think that would be detrimental to the whole recycling effort.
